Essential Things to Pack for Camping
Camping is among the best outdoor adventure plans for the weekend. Generally, a good or bad camping experience is determined by one prominent factor – what you have packed for your trip. Tent, toilet paper, your best shampoo for hair, torch, etc. are among some of the important things that you should pack. In this blog, we are discussing in detail all the things that you should pack for camping.
- Tent
If you are planning to go camping, a tent is a very first thing that you should pack. Even if you plan to lay overlooking the stars, carry a tent for emergency situations. In case there is rain or heavy dew, you will be drenched and might suffer from hypothermia. A tent can protect you and the gear from such extreme external factors. Along with the tend, ensure to carry essential accessories, including tent poles, rope, rainfly, and stakes.
- Sleeping Bag
Resting on a bed that you made from leaves and moss may seem like a fun idea, but it is hardly practical. In the night, there could be a significant drop in the temperature. Not to forget the chances of insects attacking your body. So without a proper sleeping bag to sleep on during camping, you are risking a lot.
- Water Filter
When camping, you need an adequate amount of water to survive, and the more off-beaten path you take, the faster you will run out of it. The last thing you want is to get stuck with no freshwater. And, drinking from lakes and ponds can be extremely dangerous. Therefore, make sure to carry wet stuff supply of one day in a large container or Camelbak. Additionally, keep water purification tablet or water filter, in case you might need to refill.
- Shampoo
If you are playing camping for multiple days, you will need shampoo to tame your hair. It is not very practical to take wet shampoo on a camping trip. Thankfully, you have a wide range of option for the dry shampoo that you can put in your bag and apply whenever you feel like your hair is getting frizzy or harder to manage.
- First Aid Kit
While camping is not a dangerous activity where you will experience any life-threatening injury, there might be chances of some blisters and minor cuts during a long hiking endeavour. And, if you leave the wound untreated, it can get infected, so it is better to carry a first aid kit along. A first aid kit should have gauze, soap, scissors, adhesive, emergency whistle, insect repellent, sunscreen, and CPR mouth barriers.
- Fire Starter
Your camping experience is incomplete without a campfire; therefore, you will need the right tool to facilitate the same. You can start a fire with matches, cigarette lighter, flint and steel or a magnesium fire starter. Irrespective of what option you choose, make sure that you carry, two in case you lost one. Additionally, carry along some sort of kindling like newspaper strops or dry bark.
Next time you plan a camping trip, make sure you have packed all the above things for a seamless camping experience.
